The Salvation Army Education Programme for Children and Youth in China

The programme aims at meeting the education need of children in rural China. Education aid is provided to enable children from poor families to continue their studies. Support is given at school level to enhance teaching qualities.
Scopes of Programme:

• Improve education and living conditions of elementary school students in rural areas, e.g. supply of stationery, extracurricular reading and clothing; and improvement of students’ nutrition and dormitories.
• Provide subsidy for high school and university students to prevent dropping out of school due to unaffordable education fees and expenses.
• Subsidise education development projects to uplift the education standard in rural China. Scopes of projects include school construction, supply of education equipment, teachers’ training, etc
