Story reading and storytelling are not always restricted to indoors. It is also a good idea to read outside. To further promote reading among children, The Salvation Army organised the ‘Joyful Reading Family’ Shared Reading Day, which included reading workshops, story sessions and reading corner, through which parents and children spent their time reading stories together.

The Salvation Army Pre-School Education Services values reading and the practice of ‘shared reading’ between parents and children. Apart from launching different reading activities and books borrowing service, our schools also regularly organise outdoor storytelling activities, which not only allow parents and children to enjoy the stories outdoors, but also further cultivate and encourage a love of reading among children.
