On 22 July 2013, 7:45 am, a 6.6-magnitude quake jolted a juncture region of Min and Zhang Counties, Dingxi Prefecture of Gansu Province. As of 24 July, 95 people were killed and more then 1,000 were injured.

Most of the houses in the affected area were severely damaged. The survivors are sheltered under temporary tents. Food items and daily necessities are desperately needed. The Salvation Army relief assessment team paid visit to the injured in the hospital at Majiako Village and distributed instant noodles and preserved vegetable to the survivors who were waiting for help.

Following our on-site assessment, The Salvation Army will arrange the distribution of the second batch of supplies such as food, daily necessities and quilts to the victims in need.
