Last year, The Salvation Army hosted the Charity Orienteering 2023 at the Northern District for the first time. This year, we are moving things to the south – The Salvation Army Orienteering Charity Cup 2024 will be hosted on 23 November 2024 in the Hong Kong Southern District! The Orienteering Charity Cup will be conducted in the format of a two-hour score competition. It will test not only the participants’ physical fitness and endurance, but also their map-reading skills, rational thinking, and teamwork!
The funds raised from the competition will go into supporting The Salvation Army’s community care services, helping those in need in the community (including but not limited to the elderly, homeless, caregivers, low-income families, etc.). As the Army has also been advocating community connection, it is hoped that the public can gain a better understanding of the Southern District’s unique history, culture, and communities with a fresh perspective through this competition, raising public awareness on caring for the community!
*Each participant in the above categories will receive one event-exclusive souvenir.
