Donating Clothing and Goods

The Salvation Army Recycling Programme welcomes both organisation and personal donations of clothing and goods. Donated goods are sorted, distributed and sold in Family Stores in Hong Kong and Macau. The net proceeds will go to The Salvation Army for use across its invaluable community programmes. Some of the donated goods will be directly helping people in need, such as home alone elderly, street sleepers, ex-prisoners and CSSA recipients.

What to donate?

Do Accept

  • New or used items in clean, working and non-damaged condition:Clothing, footwear, handbags and accessories (except fur)
  • Small electrical appliances in working order
  • Toys, stationery, gifts and premiums
  • Books, legitimate software / DVDs / VCDs / CDs (excluding those involving obscene and indecent/ pornographic/ violent/ evil spirit content, or primary & secondary school textbooks, and magazines)
  • Televisions, computers (including desktop, laptop and tablet), printers, scanners and monitors

Do Not Accept
  • Furniture, used bed mattresses or bedding
  • Air-conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines
  • Medicine or food
  • Used kitchenware
  • Used underwear, towels or stuffed toys
  • Fur products

Where to Donate?

You can donate at any of our Family Stores during opening hours or deposit them into The Salvation Army Recycling Bins located across Hong Kong and Macau.If the donation quantity is 5 large bags or more, please send them to any of our collection centres below.

If you would like to donate goods in Family Stores, please pass the items to our staff during the opening hours. Do not put the donations outside the Family Stores. Thank you for your cooperation.

Pick-up Service

Alternatively, you can contact our Recycling Hotline to arrange pick up service for donation of large quantity, e.g. 5 large bags of clothings, or heavy item e.g.Fitness Equipment, large musical instruments, etc. Please notify us as early as possible to allow our logistics arrangement.

*Pick-up service is not available for building without elevator.

*When Salvation Army staff come to collect in-kind donations, our logistics team will be in uniform and bring along staff cards with them. They will issue an official receipt to the donor on the spot. The receipt will show the category and quantity of donations received. We will ask the donor to sign on the official receipt to verify the accuracy of the content stated on it.
