The centre was transformed into a District Elderly Community Centre on 1 April 2003. Both developmental and supportive services are provided in response to the senior citizens’ needs and district characteristics with the intention of actualising the concept of “aging in place”. It provides a diversity of services, such as health education, interest classes, social and recreational activities, individual counselling, carer service, volunteer work and supportive services for frail elderly that enable the elderly to live healthily and happily in their community.
