Corps Cadets

The Bible says, ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.’ (1 Timothy 4:12)

Any eligible young Salvationist aged 12 to 21 who wants to be a Corps Cadet should attend a discipleship training programme, which is mainly consisted of bible teaching, social life, practice in faith and serving others. The programme aims to guide Corps Cadets to go deeper in Jesus Christ, to broaden their vision in serving others, and to deepen their understanding in The Salvation Army Doctrines, so that they are dedicated to fulfill the Salvation Army slogan of ‘Heart to God and Hand to Man’.

The Salvation Army expects every Corps Officer to be faithful Soldiers and Corps leaders of The Salvation Army, or even answer God’s call to become a Salvation Army Officer (Pastor).

Corps Cadets Programme

  • Bible teaching
Taught in lessons, Corps Cadets are expected to root in God’s Words and go deeper in Jesus Christ
  • Social life
By taking part in various united meetings and activities, and jointly planning for various ministries or services, Corps Cadets learn to listen to and tolerate each other in a group, so that they are one in the Spirit and working for God together
  • Faith in Practice
Corps Cadets have an opportunity to put what they have learnt in class into practice in their daily lives and Corps ministries, as well as the opportunity to learn how to spread the good news of God to others through short term mission trips and visits
  • Serving others
By serving the community and people in need, Corps Cadets have the opportunity to fulfill the Salvation Army’s slogan of ‘Heart to God and Hand to Man’
