The Salvation Army (TSA)’s Collaboration with The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) for a 5-Year Partnership
back

In the pursuit of excellence in teaching and learning for the advancement of TSA education, Lieut-Colonel Ian SWAN, the Officer Commanding of TSA Hong Kong and Macau Command and Professor Stephen CHEUNG Yan-leung, President of EdUHK had signed the Agreement for Collaboration with a Signing Ceremony held at the University on 21 November 2017. It is an initial 5-year partnership and covers the main areas of:

  • teacher professional development courses and workshops;
  • consultancy services to our schools;
  • field experience for pre-service teachers;
  • award scheme to students;
  • joint educational or academic events

Mr Tim LUI Tim-leung, Chairman of Education Commission was the Guest of Honour at the Ceremony. Some veteran educators were invited to speak and share their insight and experiences on the day. 14 school sponsoring bodies (SSBs) had joined the partnership. Our Educational Services Director, Dr Carl CHENG Kai-yuen had also attended to witness the commemorative moment. Dr CHENG said, ‘the partnership will provide much more professional training opportunities to teachers which are aligning with the needs of our school development.’ It may be a benchmark of a new page of diversified education development in the Army through innovative and interactive cooperation programmes and activities with a number of SSBs moderated by the major education university.
